The course Knowledge Economy (KE) is part of the subject area of entrepreneurship and is mandatory for degree in Telematics Engineering, Computer Engineering and is optional in grades in Audiovisual Systems Engineering and Biomedical Engineering within engineering curricula of the Polytechnic School.
KE analyzes the specific features of the knowledge economy with respect to:
- Social change it represents, the need for new types of innovation: disruptive innovation.
- Possible digital divide
- Change in the approaches of companies
- Changing the approach to the creation of new businesses and enterprises
- Change in the system of financing of business projects
- Changing the approach to government
- New types of companies: knowledge management, change management, ...
- New curricular profiles for workers: knowledge management managers, social networking, SEO and SEM responsibles ...
- Change in training methodology
We also want to provide tools to help students to deploy projects of information society for either government or enterprises through cases studies.
Finally, the course aims to promote on students entrepreneurship from the experiences of people who have started their own business.
The course has a significant practical component as students develop a practical project of Information Society and also there will be sessions conducted by experts on various topics of the subject.
Knowledge Economy will be coordinated with Entrepreneurship and Business Creation (ECE) elective various engineering degrees and also coordinates with OETIC (compulsory for all grades) extending concepts from experiences in entrepreneurship.
