In this subject, we present some of the most recent and upcoming technologies for multimedia wireless networks: Very-High Throughput WLANs (IEEE 802.11n, IEEE 802.11ac), Wireless Networks in TV White Spaces, Wireless Sensor Networks and Machine-2-Machine Communications over LTE (Long Term Evolution)
Basic knowledge of networking. Interest on Wireless Networks.
The ones considered for this course in the Pla d'Estudis.
The final grade is computed as follows:
Final Grade = 0.4 FE + 0.2 MtE + 0.4 LE
where: FE (Final Exam), MtE (Mid TermExam) and LE (Lab Exercises / Project).
In the re-take exam of July, only the Final Exam (FE) can be recovered.
Final Grade (July) = max(6, 0.4 FE + 0.2 MtE + 0.4 LE)
Lecture 1: Introduction to Wireless Networks
Lecture 2: Very High Throughput WLANs
Lecture 3: Wireless Networks in TV White Spaces
Lecture 4: Machine-to-Machine (M2M) Communications
This course includes three different types of sessions: lectures, problems and laboratory.
The specific bibliography and other resources are announced at each lecture
