1. Presentation of the subject
Study and interpretation of some of the main works and authors of 19th and 20th-century Spanish Literature, relating them to the aesthetic and socio-cultural context they belong to. A special stress will be put on the modernization process leading to the republican period, on the interruption of this process during the dictatorship and on the efforts made towards restoration during the last decades of the 20th century

Skills in recognising the distinctive traits of a classic or canonical literary piece and in identifying the continuity and the innovative elements. 5. Analytical reading. Skills in establishing interrelations within a text and with contemporary, anterior and posterior texts. |
