Protohistory of the Mediterranean (1st millenium B.C.)
Study and interpretation of the fundamental episodes, as well as the assumptions and consequences, of the ancient Mediterranean world.

Program
- The crisis of 1200 B.C. in Eastern Mediterranean and the collapse of empires. The invasion of "pobles del mar" ("sea towns").
- The transition to the first millennium in Anatolia, Syria and Palestine. The reorganisation of international trade: Cyprus and Phoenicia.
- Central Mediterranean at the end of the second millennium: two Italian cultures, "subapenínica" and "protovilanoviana".
- The Vilanovan and orientalizing Iron Age in Italy. The Etruscans: the formation of the cities in Etruria and Lazio. The origins of Rome.
- The Phoenician expansion to the Centre and Eastern Mediterranean. The founding of Cartago and Cadiz and its consequences.
- The Iberian Peninsula and Tartessians.
