1. Presentation of the subject
Typology and approach: this is a compulsory introductory subject that aims to provide a general vision of European history between 1500 and 1900, with special emphasis on the events that have been decisive in the configuration of the contemporary world.
Key aspects: it is fundamental for students to understand the phenomena that will be analysed, either in the theoretical lectures, in the compulsory readings or in the expositions and discussions in seminar sessions. Acquiring analysis skills, along with synthesis and oral and written communication skills, will be crucial for the subject.
General recommendations: in order to achieve the basic knowledge it is essential to read the recommended bibliography.
