Unit 2. Avant-garde film: German Expressionism, Russian avant-garde, Dadaism and Surrealism.
Unit 3. Forms of Realism: Renoir and the Italian Neo-Realism.
Unit 4. The Nouvelle Vague and the deconstruction of the cinematographic discourse.
Unit 5. Looking at the individual: psychological cinema.
Unit 6. Society's image: political cinema.
