1. Europe in the second half of the sixteenth century. Reformation and Counter-Reformation.
- Mannerism and Counter-Reformation Art. Il Gesú.
2. Baroque. Periodization. Main principles. Identification signs.
3. Italian baroque painting.
- Classicism vs. Naturalism: Annibale Carracci and Caravaggio.
4. Italian baroque architecture. Rome: Maderno, Rainaldi, Bernini and Borromini.
5. Bernini the sculptor.
6. Flemish school: Rubens.
7. Dutch Golden Age painting: portraits and bourgeois scenes.
- The Delft school: Vermeer and Pieter de Hooch.
- Rembrandt painter of stories.
8. Spanish Art in the seventeenth century.
- Genre painting and religious painting in Seville.
- Court painting around Philip IV. Velázquez .
