Objectius

L'objectiu general d'aquesta assignatura és aprofundir en la reflexió sobre l'estructura i funcions lingüístiques de l'anglès, sobretot des de l'òptica de la funció interactiva del llenguatge i en l'àmbit textual que emmarca l'oració.

This course has the following goals: (1) to familiarize students with the various means of expressing modality in English; (2) to make them aware of the principles that organise the flow of information (from sender to receiver) in written and spoken English discourse as well as the resources available (from sentence structure to sentence accent); (3) to make them aware of certain relevant contrastive issues in information flow in English / Catalan / Spanish. Ultimately, all these notions should help students improve their writing and speaking skills.
