Objectius
L'objectiu general d'aquesta assignatura és aprofundir en la reflexió sobre l'estructura i funcions lingüístiques de l'anglès, sobretot des de l'òptica contrastiva i en l'àmbit semanticopragmàtic de l'oració.
The course is designed to help students: (1) better understand and analyse the structure, meaning, and use in context of English clauses, ultimately in order to help them become a better and more informed users of the English language; (2) to identify and work on specific areas of contrast between English and their A languages which tend to create problems for translation; and (3) to control the semantics and pragmatics of the English Noun Phrase (post-modification), Adverbial system, Modality and Mood (subjunctive); and (4) to develop general instrumental skills in English.
