Aquesta assignatura té com a objectiu estudiar el sistema polític japonès (organització institucional, procés polític, cultura política, actors, el sistema electoral...), i introduir a l’estudiant en l’estructura social japonesa (estratificació de la societat, sistema familiar, el sistema educatiu...). Així mateix es realitzarà una breu aproximació als sistemes polítics de les dues Corees.

I. L'ESTRUCTURA SOCIAL JAPONESA

TEMA 1 INTRODUCCIÓ A LA SOCIETAT JAPONESA. Estructura social, diversitat i grups minoritaris. Etnicitat i discriminació. Individu versus grup.

TEMA 2 SISTEMA FAMILIAR I L'EDUCACIÓ. La família. El paper de la dona. El sistema educatiu.

II. EL SISTEMA POLÍTIC JAPONÈS

TEMA 3. EL SISTEMA POLÍTIC I EL SEU ESTUDI. La política com a ciència. L'estudi del sistema polític i la Teoria dels Sistemes d'Easton. Tipus de sistemes i formes de govern.

TEMA 4. LA CONSTITUCIÓ JAPONESA DE POSTGUERRA. Aproximació històrica al nou sistema polític de postguerra. El nou status de l'emperador. L'article 9 sobre la "renúncia a la guerra". Drets i deures dels ciutadans.

TEMA 5. L'ORGANITZACIÓ INSTITUCIONAL I ADMINISTRATIVA DE L'ESTAT. La Dieta, el Gabinet i el Primer Ministre. El govern local. L’estructura territorial de l'estat. El sistema judicial.

TEMA 6. EL PROCÉS POLÍTIC I ELS SEUS ACTORS. Els partits polítics. Les faccions. El comportament electoral. El sistema electoral.

TEMA 7. L'ADMINISTRACIÓ PÚBLICA I LES POLÍTIQUES PÚBLIQUES. El paper de la burocràcia.

III. SISTEMA POLÍTIC DE COREA DEL SUD I COREA DEL NORD

TEMA 8. EL SISTEMA POLÍTIC DE COREA DEL SUD. Aproximació històrica. Institucions polítiques.

TEMA 9. EL SISTEMA POLÍTIC DE COREA DEL NORD. Aproximació històrica. Institucions polítiques. La doctrina juche.

TEMA 10. EL CONFLICTE INTERCOREÀ. El conflicte entre les dues Corees. El problema nuclear.

Sistema d'avaluació
El sistema d’avaluació permetrà a l’estudiant escollir entre dues opcions.La primera opció requerirà la realització d’una sèrie de pràctiques sobre els diferents temes del bloc I i el bloc II. El bloc III s’avaluarà a través de ponències, treballs o exposicions a classe. En darrer lloc es realitzarà un comentari de text sobre algun dels aspectes sobre el temari que servirà, juntament amb les pràctiques, per avaluar l’assignatura.
En la segona opció, i pels estudiants que no puguin seguir el sistema d’avaluació continuada, s’oferirà l’opció de dos exàmens finals al juny. El primer serà sobre tota la matèria impartida durant el curs. El segon serà un comentari de text idèntic al proposat en l’opció primera.
En ambdues opcions es pot realitzar un treball escrit voluntari de deu pàgines com a màxim sobre un tema relacionat amb el temari, prèvia consulta amb el professor.
