The course is dealing with a management approach to Human Resource Management. This approach is interdisciplinary, using insights from psychology, sociology and management sciences, among others. During the class, students will learn about the basic theoretical approaches to the most important topics in this area:

1. Human resource planning.
2. Selection and hiring.
3. Compensation and Motivation.
4. Managing performance.
5. Traning and Development.
6. Employee separations.
7. Diversity Management.
8. International HRM.

The teaching is based on lectures and discussions and interactive exercises, to give students also the opportunity to learn about the more practical issues in Human Resource Management.

During the term, students have to do a group assignment. They´ll interview a Human Resource Manager, to learn about the issues covered in class from a more practical perspective.

In the practice meetings, short cases related to the topics of the class are discussed.

Grading is based on a final exam, the practice meetings and the group project.
